Tempurpedic Mattress Sale

TEMPUR-Pedic is known for their high-end line of memory foam mattresses. The company transformed the industry more than two decades ago when they took memory foam mattresses mainstream. The foam used was originally developed for NASA as a material to cushion aircraft seats but was introduced to consumers through the TEMPUR-Pedic mattress brand in 1992. Free Shipping. 15% Off.

How Are Tempur-Pedic Mattresses Constructed?

Please note: Tempur-Pedic does not disclose certain mattress specs, such as individual layer thickness, foam density, or cover fabric composition.

he Adapt has a non-removable polyester cover. The material has an exceptionally soft feel. If spills occur, Tempur-Pedic recommends soaking up the liquid with a towel and air-drying the mattress.

The ProAdapt, LuxeAdapt, and Breeze° have dual-layer SmartClimate covers made of polyester. The covers have zippers and can be removed from the mattress for cleaning. Tempur-Pedic recommends washing in warm water and mild detergent, followed by air-drying.

The Breeze° cover is unique because it contains an additional layer of phase-change material, which absorbs body heat from the sleeper until the mattress surface reaches a certain temperature. The PRObreeze° is designed to sleep about 3 degrees cooler, while the LUXEbreeze° is designed to sleep 8 degrees cooler. According to Tempur-Pedic, the cooling process lasts for roughly 20 minutes after the sleeper gets into bed.

Comfort Layers

Our testing crew unzipped the ProAdapt to get a better look at the individual components. The testers found two memory foam comfort layers measuring a total of 4 inches thick. We are unsure about the foam density – Tempur-Pedic does not disclose this spec – but the company may use foams with densities up to 7 PCF, which is very high.

The Adapt, LUXEAdapt, and Breeze° models have comfort layers with similar compositions and density levels as the foam found in the ProAdapt.

Transitional Layer

Each Tempur-Pedic mattress has a polyfoam layer made of polyfoam located beneath its comfort layer(s). The ProAdapt has a 3-inch transitional layer. The other Tempur-Pedic models have transitional layers of 2 to 3 inches.

This transitional material prevents sleepers from sinking too deeply and coming into contact with the denser and firmer support core. Although Tempur-Pedic does not disclose the density of their transitional layers, we estimate the material is medium- to high-density in each bed.

Support Layers

The Adapt and the firm ProAdapt each have a solid support core of high-density polyfoam. Other Tempur-Pedic memory foam mattresses have high-density polyfoam support cores that are convoluted, giving the material a look similar to egg-crate foam.

The support core is designed to stabilize the entire mattress and keep sleepers on an even plane without sagging too much. In the ProAdapt, the convoluted polyfoam layer measures about 5 inches thick.

Mattress Height

The Adapt is Tempur-Pedic’s shortest current model, measuring 11 inches thick. This is considered a medium-profile mattress. The ProAdapt and PRObreeze° measure 12 inches thick, while the LuxeAdapt and LUXEbreeze° measure 13 inches thick. These are all considered high-profile mattresses.

Tempur-Pedic mattresses contain thick comfort layers. As a result, the beds sacrifice some base layer support to provide a more closely conforming feel. The mattresses provide a deep, pressure-relieving cradle for the body, but sleeper and edge support is somewhat minimal.
